Reflective 911 Signs Available
Since minutes can make a world of difference in an emergency, two local fire departments are hoping residents take advantage of a program to help firefighters find those in need of aid.

The Highland-Pierron and St. Jacob Fire Departments are now offering reflective signs to help guide first responders to rural residents at night or during poor weather conditions. The highly reflective signs are 6 inches wide by 18 inches long with your 911 address numerics in white lettering and are usually mounted vertically on your mailbox or other post at the end of your driveway. Cost for the signs is between $10 and $15 a piece.

These signs will help all first responders whether they are fire, law enforcement or medical. If the emergency personnel can't find you in a timely manner precious minutes pass that can literally mean the difference between life and death.
For more information or to request a sign call the Highland-Pierron Fire Dept at 654-3268 and leave a message. For the St. Jacob Fire Dept. call 644-5637.
